What most homeowners dislike about their current home is the kitchen, bath, or lack of space. According to Larry, “a homeowner should keep the location they love and modify their home to suit their needs and desires.” Many homeowners have difficulty seeing the potential in their own kitchen or bath. For this reason, Capital City Builders helps homeowners create a design that accommodates the homeowner’s lifestyle.
Capital City Builders relies on trusted subcontractors to create a space that is both beautiful and functional. We have worked with many local subcontractors for many years and built a strong partnership that allows us to provide unsurpassed service, quality and support for all your projects needs. We know wha our subs will delver.
What to consider before you start!
Do:
- Put time into design work
- Use people who specialize in remodeling. A good source for this information is the Remodeler’s Council
- Research, research, research. Know what products you want and how to care for them
- Have basic decisions made before work begins
- Find people you are comfortable with being in your house. Use a remodeler with a superintendent that is an employer of the remodeler.
- Choose a remodeler that has good, long term relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- ALWAYS check references for the remodeler. Also get references for the remodeler from the subcontractors and suppliers.
Don’ts:
- Skimp on the design process
- Use someone that has limited experience with remodeling. Most contractors have a niche
- Go into a remodel with no information on the products available
- Start a job undecided or unprepared
- Allow just anyone into your house
- Set an unrealistically low budget.
